The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the oldest and largest professional organization for interior designers. ASID was established in 1975, resulting from a merger of two interior design associations formed in 1931. With more than 38,000 members nation-wide, ASID establishes a common identity for professionals and businesses in the field of interior design.

Wisconsin State chapter membership consists of approximately 825 members. These designers consist of practicing members, industrial professionals and students.  They represent varied fields of design specialties such as health care, office, retail, hospitality, historical restoration, commercial, government/institutional, and residential.

ASID Membership – Where You Belong

ASID is the leading organization representing the interests of professional interior designers. As a national professional society, we provide knowledge and information, education and training, advocacy, support for business, recognition, and leadership opportunities to more than 40,000 members in a network of 48 chapters in the United States and Canada. ASID establishes a common identity for professionals, aspiring professionals and business partners in the field of interior design.

The ASID appellation is widely recognized as a mark of design excellence and professionalism. In recent years, heightened visibility and increased recognition of the ASID appellation and mark has become more significant in distinguishing our members as the best of the best! Along with being qualified by education, experience and examination, members adhere to a strict code of ethics and hold one another to the highest professional standards. ASID is the premier provider of design education and leads the profession in advocacy efforts to protect interior designers’ right to practice and to a free marketplace.

Wisconsin Chapter ASID

The state chapter is made up over 800 members. They consist of practicing designers, educators, students and industry partners.
